Testimonials

In an effort to provide real feedback from real estate professionals, we have put together a list of testimonials from RREA members (past and present) that speak to their experiences and learnings from the RREA, and in some cases how the RREA prepared them for their careers in real estate.

The Rotman Real Estate Association opened my eyes to the different career paths in real estate that I had never considered before (or even knew existed). It was a rewarding experience to connect with top level executives in this industry, compete in case competitions, and share my passion with my peers. RREA prepared me with the tools to transition from the academic world to the real world. Now, I’m in a position in the real estate industry that best suits my interests and skill set.

- Lisa Van Espen, Real Estate, CIBC Capital Markets

Given Rotman's extensive communities and networks in the Finance and Consulting sectors, it is often easy to overlook something relatively niche like Real Estate. The RREA provides members with the very real understanding that these careers can be achieved within the real estate industry. From Development to Asset Management and Investments, real estate is truly a diverse and expansive community, and the RREA was essential in educating me on these subjects. Further, the RREA can provide members with ample interview preparation materials as well as industry introductions. I'm very excited to see the club and network continue growing!

- Massimo Bozzo, Cadillac Fariview

The RREA was a pillar of my Rotman experience. I developed industry knowledge and built relationships with like-minded peers and industry leaders, including those that are part of the strong RREA Alumni network.

- Catherine Wilson, Infrastructure, CPPIB

When starting off my Rotman MBA, either Finance or Consulting often times dominated the focus of both my peers and I. As a first year pivoting into finance, the RREA and Rotman showed me that many of the functions found in investment banking or private equity could be found directly through the real estate route. The RREA together with the Rotman’s career resources played an instrumental role in preparing me for recruitment and ultimately helped me secure an internship and a full-time role with KingSett Capital, Canada’s leading private equity real estate investment firm.

- Ron Leung, KingSett Capital, MBA 2019

That's it for now folks! Let's all break out our cardigans, start sipping on those PSL's, and get ready for a great school year! Looking forward to a fun fall!
