June 2018 Newsletter
Updated: Sep 13, 2018
Hopefully everybody is enjoying their summer so far, and is making the most out of the warm weather that has finally come our way!
We would like to begin our first newsletter for the 2018-2019 year by thanking our 2017-2018 RREA Execs! The Rotman Real Estate Association saw continued growth and success this past year thanks to a tremendous effort from the dedicated executive team, who worked tirelessly to run numerous industry events allowing MBA students to connect with leading professionals within real estate.
As the new executive team settles in, our mission is to inform, develop, and connect students with opportunities across the real-estate industry. We look forward to continuing to build the Rotman brand in real estate. In the meantime, Ryan Hixon, Nadine Di Nardo, Adam Lambros, Lisa Van Espen, Oscar Piovesan, and Adam Moghtaderi, thank you for a fantastic year and best of luck in all your future endeavours!

In an effort to provide real feedback from real estate professionals, we have put together a list of testimonials from RREA members (past and present) that speak to their experiences and learnings from the RREA, and in some cases how the RREA prepared them for their careers in real estate.
The RREA was a pillar of my Rotman experience. I developed industry knowledge and built relationships with like-minded peers and industry leaders, including those that are part of the strong RREA Alumni network.
- Catherine Wilson, Infrastructure, CPPIB
Being a part of the Rotman Real Estate Club has been a truly rewarding experience. Sharing my passion for real estate with classmates, discussing the latest trends with industry professionals, having coffee chats with top managers and CEO's of real estate firms and pension funds within Toronto are just a few experiences I enjoyed during my first year with the RREA. Furthermore, I was able to participate in the Cadillac Fairview Case Competition, which helped me develop good relationships with classmates with similar interests. Finally, the RREA helped me to connect with my current employer, TAKOL Real Estate Inc., for my summer internship!
- Ed Mitcura, MBA 2019
Coming into the MBA I had an interest in the Real Estate industry but, honestly, didn't know a lot about it. Through the Rotman Real Estate Club I was able to learn about all aspects of the business, from Development to Asset Management, through fun, intimate events. The events also provided an excellent opportunity to connect with industry experts and Rotman alumni that were able to help me as I searched for a summer internship. Overall, the club and its events were able to help answer all the questions I had about a career in the Real Estate industry and connect me with the people to make it possible.
- Krizia Napolitano, MBA 2019
That's it for now. Have a fantastic long weekend from your RREA Execs!
